Meet The Author

The Author

Ruth Olujobi is a graduate of Bowdoin College, where she studied Neuroscience and German. A passionate advocate for quality healthcare, she is equally committed to leadership, service, and building community wherever she finds herself. During her time at Bowdoin, Ruth held multiple leadership roles, including serving as President of the Africa Alliance, Bowdoin’s African student organization.

She is the founder and host of Blooming Daily, a podcast that empowers young people through honest and relatable conversations about health and wellness. Ruth also leads Teennation Africa, an organization that equips young Africans with tools for leadership and development. In her third and final year at Bowdoin, she also served as a regional premedical representative at the Student National Medical Association.

Ruth’s work has earned her several honors, including Bowdoin’s 2025 President’s Award and the General R.H. Dunlop Prize for her leadership and service, as well as the 2025 Davis Projects for Peace Prize for her STEM access initiative, Rekora, which serves high school students in Lagos, Nigeria.

In her free time, you’ll find her cooking Nigerian meals, sharing laughter with loved ones, or dreaming up ways to make the world a little brighter.

Dear Sojourner is her first book.
